The GP's at our Surgery are continuously keeping up with medical advancements to remain committed to your care. Geographe Bay General Practice is an autonomous practice consisting of 8 Doctors and 2 Registrars, we also supervise UWA and Notre Dame Medical Students with the patients permission.

We have a comprehensive treatment room managed by our friendly highly trained nurses performing a varied range of up to date medical treatments. Our caring Administration staff endeavour to offer you an appointment with your regular doctor when available or alternatively with another doctor. Patient confidentiality is a high priority at Geographe Bay General Practice.

Dr Luke Cresswell

Dr Lucas Cresswell (Luke) moved to Busselton in 2010 to complete his fellowship training. On completion he decided to stay here and is now a Practice partner. Luke is originally from Tasmania and studied in Hobart at the University of Tasmania. After graduation he moved to the UK from 2003-2007 where he worked in emergency medicine all over the UK. He now works as a general practitioner caring for all age groups and has an interest in skin cancer, men's health and diabetes. He has obtained a Professional Diploma in Skin Cancer Medicine as well as Professional and Advanced Certificates of Skin Cancer Medicine. He is available for skin checks and skin cancer removals.

Dr Alan Lim

Dr Alan Lim recently moved to Busselton in 2020 to pursue a career in general practice. Alan is originally from Malaysia and completed his studies at the University of New South Wales. After graduating Alan has worked regionally in North Queensland and most recently Fiona Stanley Hospital. Alan has a special interest in child health and has completed the Sydney Child Health Program. He works full time and is available for consultation from Monday to Friday.

Dr Heather Brand

Dr Heather Brand is a GP Obstetrician and practice partner, who graduated from the University of Western Australia. She has particular interest and experience in women's and children's health. This includes contraception, sexual health, menopause, pregnancy and care including delivery of your baby and follow up care. Dr Brand is a youth friendly doctor and happy to provide care for children and teenagers. Dr Brand is available for consultation Monday, Thursday and Friday.

Dr Katherine Smith

Speaks English

Dr Katherine Smith (Kate) completed her medical degree at the University of Western Australia in 2019 after moving to Perth from her hometown in Bunbury. After graduation, she has worked as a junior doctor in several hospitals in Perth and the Pilbara in areas including surgery, emergency medicine, paediatrics, and general medicine. In 2022, she relocated to the South West to work at Bunbury Hospital, primarily in paediatrics and emergency medicine.

In December 2023, Kate moved to Busselton to pursue a career in general practice. Kate has a special interest in child health and has completed the Sydney Child Health Program.

Dr Kate is available for consultation from Monday to Friday.

Dr Samantha McDonald

Dr Samantha McDonald returned to Busselton in 2020 after completing her medical degree at the University of Western Australia in 2014 and GP fellowship in 2019, she is now a practice partner. Samantha is a GP Obstetrician and her special interests includes women’s, paediatric and sexual health. Dr McDonald is a youth friendly doctor. Dr McDonald is available for consultations Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Dr David Lynch

Dr David Lynch completed his medical degree in Dublin, Ireland in 2019. David made the move to Perth in 2021, following his time working in Irish hospitals during the early years of the COVID-19 pandemic. His hospital work continued at Joondalup Health Campus, gaining experience in General Medicine, Cardiology, Respiratory, as well as spending time in the ICU and Emergency Departments.

Before relocating to Busselton to pursue a career in General Practice, David's most recent experience includes working in Perth Children's Hospital ED and as a tutor for medical students at the University of Notre Dame.

He works full-time and is available for consultation Monday to Friday.

Dr Jeffrey Smith

Dr Jeffrey smith completed his medical degree at the University of Western Australia in 2013. After graduating he worked in general surgery and plastic surgery across a number of Perth Hospitals. He then worked as an emergency doctor at Fiona Stanley Hospital and Rockingham Hospital before moving to Bunbury to continue his emergency specialist training at Bunbury Regional Hospital.

He is now working towards becoming both an Emergency Specialist as well as a General Practitioner.

Dr Aisling Cafferkey

Speaks English

Dr. Aisling Cafferkey graduated from University College Dublin in Ireland in 2018 before relocating to Western Australia in 2019.

With over five years of experience, she has worked extensively in adult medicine across Perth while also gaining valuable experience in emergency care at Perth Children’s Hospital. Dr. Aisling has also completed diplomas in Paediatrics and Obstetrics and Women’s Health, demonstrating her dedication to providing comprehensive and specialised care.

Dr. Aisling has recently relocated to Busselton to further her GP training. She is available for consultations Monday to Friday.
